Time Commitment: Estimated 8 hours per week

This self-paced course provides participants with a foundational knowledge of what trauma is, how trauma affects the brain, the differences in how people experience trauma, clinical techniques that address trauma triggers, vicarious and secondary traumatic stress, and resiliency.
Being trauma-informed is an agency-wide approach—one that requires teamwork, understanding, and practice to implement. As such, this training is designed to provide individual learners with information about the importance of being trauma-informed, give them tools to become more trauma-informed, and suggest ways agencies can change their culture to be more trauma-informed. Participants will also learn the benefits of providing stabilization tools and assessments to meet everyone's goals of better serving their clients.
