This self-paced course provides participants with a foundational knowledge of what gender is, how gender impacts individuals' experience within society, and, more specifically, why gender plays a role in someone's arrival, behavior, and success within the criminal justice system.
Being gender-responsive is an agency-wide approach that takes teamwork, understanding, and practice to implement. As such, this training is designed to provide individual learners with information about the importance of being gender-responsive, give them tools to become more gender-responsive, and provide suggestions for how agencies can change their culture to be more gender-responsive. Participants will also learn the benefits of delivering gender-responsive tools and assessments to meet everyone's goals and lower recidivism.
